Community ServiceCommunity service is an important aspect of Jeris personal life goals. In addition to participating in all Mountain Crest Mortgage sponsored fund raisers, she also has several charities that are close to her heart. Whether she is riding up Vail pass raising money for Childrens Hospital or volunteering at HERA, Jeri feels it is her mission to share her time and passion for life with those who are less fortunate. 2008 will mark Jeris second year as a participant and fund raiser in the Courage Classic bike tour. This three day bike tour stretches 157 scenic miles through the majestic Colorado Rockies. The event draws energetic and enthusiastic bike riders from all over the Front Range to raise money for the Childrens Hospital. Last year 2000 riders raised $2.6 million dollars to help the Childrens Hospital and this year is gearing up to be another exciting and record breaking event. In June, Jeri ran the half marathon in the annual Post News Colorado Colfax Marathon to raise money for Colorado Youth for a Change. Colorado Youth for a Change is non-profit organization dedicated to helping alleviate the severe dropout rate in Colorado. They have several programs geared toward helping students at risk for dropping out of school stay in school and assists students who have dropped out of school return to successfully complete their education. Jeri has also supported HERA, Health, Empowerment, Research and Awareness, and their signature event, Climb for Life for Womens Ovarian Cancer Research and Cure. In June, Jeri volunteered her time during this three day event in Boulder where organizers and supporters raised over $30,000. HERAs mission is to stop the loss of the women in our lives to ovarian cancer through empowerment and education on the research and community levels. Jeri also has vaolunteered on the committe for Cherry Creek Chamber's Wicket and Stick It, Croquet Tournament inaugural event in 2009 to raise funds to benefit the Colorado Coalition for Economic Education who's mission is promoting and improving economic literacy in Colorados schools.
